Garment Care
Lovermine pieces are designed to be worn, loved and held dear. A little care along the way will help preserve your garment's beauty for years to come.
Always refer to the care label inside your garment first, as each piece has been considered individually according to its fabrication, trims and construction.
WOVENS
A GENTLE WASH
Where the care label allows, we recommend washing only when needed, using cold water and a gentle detergent. Hand washing or a delicate machine cycle in a garment bag will help protect fine cottons, embroidery, lacework and delicate details.
Wash with similar colours and avoid bleach, harsh detergents and fabric softeners.
DRY NATURALLY
Whenever possible, allow your Lovermine pieces to air dry naturally. Lay your garment flat to dry over your clothes line and avoid direct sunlight.
Avoid tumble drying as excessive heat can affect natural fibres, delicate trims and the shape of your garment.
Gently reshape your piece while damp and lay flat where appropriate.
A LITTLE PRESS
Natural fabrications such as cotton may soften and crease beautifully with wear. If you prefer a more pressed finish, gently steam or iron on the temperature recommended on the garment care label.
Take particular care around embroidery, lace, crochet and other delicate details.
STORING YOUR GARMENT
Before storing, make sure your garment is clean and completely dry. Keep pieces away from prolonged direct sunlight and store delicate garments folded rather than hung.
For special pieces kept for longer periods, we recommend storing them in a breathable cotton garment bag rather than plastic.
HAND CROCHET
Our hand-crocheted pieces have been slowly created by skilled hands and deserve a little extra care.
A GENTLE WASH
We recommend hand washing crochet separately in cold water with a gentle detergent. Gently squeeze out the water but do not wring as this will damage the garment.
Please do not dry clean, soak, bleach or tumble dry your Lovermine crochet garments.
DRY NATURALLY
Lay your crochet garment flat to dry over your clothes line and avoid direct sunlight.
Gently reshape the garment after washing. Avoid hanging crochet for long periods of time as the weight of the yarn may alter its shape.

For special crochet pieces kept for longer periods, we recommend storing them in a breathable cotton garment bag rather than plastic.
DELICATE BY NATURE
Please also take care with jewellery, bags and other objects that may catch the yarn.
MEND AND LOVE AGAIN
A loose button, tiny tear or well-loved seam shouldn't mean the end of a favourite piece.
Where possible, we encourage repairing and mending your Lovermine garments so they can continue to be worn and loved. If you require advice on how to mend your Lovermine write to us at love@lovermine.com.
